Demographics

Demographic data is the basis the transportation planning division uses to develop our models and projections for planning into the future.  We work closely with our member governments to provide the most up to date information available.  This webpage includes the most commonly requested data, as well as links to other sites that we find useful and have in depth data at several different levels of geography.

Longitudinal Employer Household Dynamics (LEHD)

According to the US Census Bureau, the LEHD program is part of the Center for Economic Studies at the US Census Bureau.  The program produces new, cost effective, public-use information combining federal, state and Census Bureau data on employers and employees under the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership.  State and local authorities increasingly need detailed local information about their economies to make informed decisions.  The LED Partnerships works to fill critical data gaps and provide indicators needed by state and local authorities.  Through the partnership states agree to share unemployment insurance earnings data and the quarterly census of employment and wages data with the Census Bureau.  The LEHD program combines these administrative data, additional administrative data and data from censuses and surveys to create statistics on employment, earnings, and job flows at detailed levels of geography and industry and for different demographic groups.  You can follow the link below to go to the LEHD website.

Area Census Tract Maps

The following maps are the census tract and block group maps for the seven counties in the Tulsa Metropolitan Statistical Area.  These maps simply show the boundaries of the census tracts and block groups with respect to streets and county boundaries.  Other counties outside the Tulsa MSA can be obtained from the Census Bureau’s website www.census.gov.  For 2010 census demographics by census tract and block group go to INCOG – 2010 Census Geography & Data Map
